I guess most people searching for an airport parking “Meet and Greet” service ask themselves the same questions: “Will they be efficient?”, “Will they be on time?”, “Are the instructions straight forward?”, “Is the price competitive?” and “Is it right on the airport terminal’s doorstep?”
These are the questions I asked before booking Meteor Parking’s service at Heathrow’s Terminal 3. I was travelling to Gothenburg on a press trip for the Daily Express and Travellowdown.com and wanted hassle-free parking – and I certainly got it with Meteor!
It’s standard procedure to provide an estimated time of arrival when booking. Then, when you’re near the airport – ten minutes away, in Meteor’s case – you have to phone a mobile number to receive your meet instructions and ensure your personal chauffeur is waiting for you.
Of course, when you’re driving alone and coming up the M4, like I was, it’s not always easy to call ten minutes before arrival; in my case, I had to pull in when I was virtually arriving at the airport grounds. Even so, the chauffeur was still waiting for me by the time I arrived. I dropped my car off in the designated parking area and within seconds was walking into the terminal – it couldn’t have been easier.
The procedure was different on my return. As usual, we called after clearing customs and were advised to take the lift for Short Stay Car Park 3, walk across the footbridge and take the next lift to Level 3, Zone B. It might seem a little long-winded for a “Meet and Greet” service but, in reality, was fine. My car was waiting for me.
It’s a service I’d recommend and will use again.
