Madame Tussauds is an institution in the world of UK attractions. My family and I had previously visited the Blackpool site and enjoyed the experience; our time at the London location was equally enjoyable.

Amazingly, people have been flocking through the doors of the Marylebone Road site in London’s NW1 region (nearest Tube station is Baker Street) for more than 200 years.

It remains a considerably popular attraction: you only have to witness the various long queues to realise that. In fact, people were queuing in all directions and, at first, we found it rather confusing knowing which queue to join to obtain our pre-arranged tickets.

Once inside, it’s great rubbing shoulders with your favourite celebs – all perfectly recreated in wax. When you consider the amount of detail in each of the models, you understand why they take approximately four months to make, utilise a team of around 20 skilled artists and cost about £150,000 each.

Of course, seeing the models is the highlight of this visit, but my family and I enjoyed, amongst other things, the Marvel Super Heroes 4D film.

Considering the amount of people waiting to enter Madame Tussauds, it was surprisingly easy to wander around inside and to get that much-wanted snap of your favourite A-lister. It shows that the booking system employed by the company keeps everything orderly.

A well-established, top grade attraction which can be enjoyed by the entire family.
