The authors, Helen and Paul Webster, have lived on Skye for five years and written – among others – 15 Scottish guidebooks so it’s safe to say that they know their way around Scotland.
Their latest book makes you realise just how beautifully dramatic the Isle of Skye is, not that I needed reminding. If I did, the wonderful photos illustrating this volume would do the trick.
The treks detailed within this paperback are day walks, comprising 20 circular routes – everything from challenging mountain hikes to scenic coastal walks.
The book’s compact size means it can easily be carried with you, which is useful because not only does it contain detailed route descriptions and equally detailed map extracts, but information about navigation, refreshment stops, ascent values and so on. All in all, this is an essential and informative companion for anyone exploring this wonderful island.
