Whenever you’re in Chester and looking for an eatery supplying tempting treats, both savoury and sweet, try quirky Hanky Panky Pancakes – we can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
We’re a family which loves pancakes – well, I tend to give them a miss being that most restaurants and cafés can’t make anything suitable for vegans. But at Hanky Panky, they can even cater for vegans with an egg-less version – and the one I sampled was delicious.
Tucked away down a side street, the brightly-coloured pancake caff offers myriad choices of sweet and savoury options; you can even create your own from a wide choice of fillings. On the menu, meanwhile, there are pancake concoctions to suit every taste and every part of the day, from The Honeymooner (apple compôte, honeycomb ice cream and honey, cost £5.80) to Blushing Bride (cherries, wild cherry ice cream, whipped cream and cherry brand, £8.10). After, you can wash your pancake down with a refreshing cuppa – there is an extensive selection of teas.
You’ll be greeted by friendly, helpful staff and enjoy a speedy service. Our kids loved it and can wait to return!
One thing is certain when visiting Hanky Panky Pancakes: you won’t leave disappointed. We didn’t. In fact, we promised ourselves that it would be one of the first stops on our itinerary if ever we return to the impressive city of Chester.
