A stone’s throw from Crooklet’s Beach in Bude is a family-run café serving up delicious diner-style food. Here, you can expect very generous portions, quick service and polite, helpful staff.

We visited one evening while staying at nearby Wooda Farm Holiday Park. Despite it being very busy, there were no long waiting times or that frenetic atmosphere one often experiences when restaurants or caffs are busy. No, everything ran like clockwork.

Whether you’ve been riding the ocean waves on a surf board, building sandcastles with your kids or simply out for a stroll, you’ll find the extensive menu affords customers plenty of choice. While Peter and I enjoyed vegan pizza, Hollie opted for a vegan burger and Paula chose fish and chips. All meals – cooked fresh to order – were well presented and tasty.

If you have any dietary requirements, don’t worry, because the staff are very flexible and will do their utmost to meet your needs.

When it comes to choosing your table, the options are either inside the main building or a table in the enclosed sundeck. Plus, there is an enclosed play area where the little ones can play.

If it’s just a drink you’re after, again there is plenty of choice, including tea and coffee which is roasted and produced locally. Fancy an ice cream? Well, you’re spoilt because there are 21 flavours, including vegan and gluten-free options.

Opening times vary during the year so check the website for the latest times.

Our experience of dining at Rosie’s Kitchen was positive and we recommend a visit if you’re ever in this neck of the woods.
